Description
The primary purpose of your job position as a RECEPTIONIST is to perform reception duties in an efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by your supervisor.

Responsibilities
- Receive and follow reception schedule/instructions from your supervisor as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
- Monitor the front entrance for all visitors and residents entering and exiting for the security and safety of the facility.
- Operate telephone/paging system as required.
- Answer telephone, determine nature of call and appropriately relay information within the facility.
- Receive inquiries regarding residents and handle/relay call appropriately.
- Maintain a current file of patients, emergency phone numbers of key personnel, and department extensions.
- Receive requests from within the facility and locate personnel through telephone/paging system.
- Prepare resident admission/discharge/transfer forms using computer and/or typewriter.
- Give directions/information to visitors, patients, sales representative, etc.
- Report suspicious persons/information to supervisor immediately.
- Ensure visitors abide by existing rules.
- Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when operating office equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns immediately.
- Maintain copy room by keeping the room in order and keeping the copy, fax and mail machines operational.
- Ensure that the Gift Shop is adequately stocked.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to assure resident rights are protected.
- Treat residents with respect at all times.
- Assure that resident rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are followed.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
- Serve on various committees of the facility as required by current regulations and as appointed by the Office Manager or facility Administrator.
- Report all incidents/accidents immediately.
- Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions/equipment immediately.
- Attend and participate in employee in-services as directed.
- Follow resident rights policies at all times.
- Comply with the safety regulations and safety policies of the facility.
- Attend and complete the annual Mandatory In-Service and Dementia Trainings.
- Other duties as designated by the Office Manager and/or Administrative staff.
Qualifications
Must possess, as a minimum, a High School Diploma.
